The annual publication Teanga has been published by IRAAL since l979. Originally devoted exclusively to papers presented at IRAAL seminars and conferences, Teanga now includes the best of these papers, as well as book reviews and other contributions in applied linguistics. Many issues of Teanga are focused on a particular theme, although coverage of a range of issues is also maintained. Teanga is available free of charge as a benefit of IRAAL membership. Back issues and extra copies may be purchased separately. Stocks available are as follows.
Volumes 1-19 of Teanga were edited by Dónall P. Ó Baoill (vol. 19 jointly with Mary Ruane). The next five volumes were edited by Jeff Kallen. The Chief Editor of Teanga is now Patrick Farren (School of Education, NUIG), to whom correspondence concerning submission of articles should be addressed. The other members of the Editorial Committee are Dr. Mairead Moriarty, Dr. Eugene McKendry, Dr. Muiris O Laoire, and Dr.Padraig O Duibhir.
IRAAL also publishes special volumes on specific topics, including among many others Language for Specific and for Academic Purposes (LSP/LAP), intercultural issues and language learning, acquisition of Irish as a first language, media technologies and language learning, and Irish English.
